I am currently sitting in a coffee shop drinking a churro latte that I certainly didn’t need after eating Chick-Fil-A, beef jerky and peanut M&M’s on a drive to see one of my best friends. I had a twinge of guilt as I opened up that yellow bag, but thankfully this feeling was fleeting. It was fleeting because I know that when I get back home from my trip, I have the habits in place to get right back on the horse. It was fleeting because I have a different mentality than when I first started my journey. The physical changes are what everyone sees, but mentality is where I have grown the most. That mentality is what has allowed me to improved physically, but also be able to enjoy myself and enjoy moments with the people I love. Does enjoying myself cause more work? Yes, absolutely. Is it worth it? More than anything. Food and drinks are my favorite things to fellowship over. When there’s fear or worry with the calories consumed, it hampers that so much. So as I sit here drinking a few too many calories before I am sure drinking and eating too many more, I am happy. If whatever journey you are on doesn’t include happiness, please do whatever you can to make it so. And remember, road trip snacks don’t count.
P.S. If you see a Bigfoot attraction on your road trip, you stop. 1000% of the time
P.S.S. I am also about to meet my Goddaughter for the first time and holy smokes I am freaking stoked!!!!!!!!
