For a while, wins on the scale were my sole focus. Over the past year there have been far more losses than wins on the scale but that can be ok. That is not to say that it isn’t important, but progress can be made that impacts that number. I am roughly the same weight now that I was last year at this time. It is easy to get discouraged by that fact, and I would be lying if I said that there haven’t been moments of discouragement stemming from that. Those are far more fleeting than they would have been a year ago. There are multiple reasons for this. The first is that I am in such a better place mentally in regards to my physical health and fitness. I’ve learned that the number on the scale isn’t the end all be all. I can also see changes physically, which has helped significantly. The scale may not be moving but I can see my body changing. My cardio is also so much better than its ever been. Find your wins, learn from your losses, love yourself. That’s how you win big.
